Time clock: Kiosk (/clockin)

Shared-device PIN clock: admins activate the browser once; employees punch in/out without a full login.

/clockin is the time clock kiosk URL: one browser profile on a shared tablet or front-desk PC where employees enter a PIN to clock in or out—without signing into the full app.

What /clockin is

Two modes, depending on whether this device has been bound to your company:

  • Not activated yet — Opening /clockin sends you to Kiosk Setup (/clockin/setup): an administrator signs in once to activate the device for your company (see screenshot below). This matches the public clockin experience when no kiosk cookie/session exists.
  • Activated — The same URL shows the PIN clock-in screen for your company (company name/logo when configured). A long-lived cookie can re-open the kiosk after restarts, until an admin deactivates it.

Activating the kiosk

A company admin or HR manager (roles allowed by your build) enters their email and password on the setup form and submits Activate Kiosk. That ties the browser session (and cookie) to their company so only that company’s employees should use this device.

After activation

Employees use the PIN your organization assigned them in the web app. They do not need the main Sign in page for routine punches. Admins can use controls on the kiosk UI to deactivate the device when repurposing the tablet or leaving a public area.

Requirements

  • Time tracking must be enabled for the company (e.g. via the setup wizard or company settings). If it’s off, the app may keep you on setup or block activation.
  • Designed for a dedicated device or browser profile you trust—anyone with physical access can punch if they know a PIN.
